The eagle has landed...

Actually we (Jeremy and Pam) landed in Fargo two months ago. It has been a bit of a whirlwind, from mission teams, picnics, job searching, and the like. Needless to say, blogging has been put on the back burner for me (though Pam has embraced it full force check out her blog).

So here is a quick update.
  • We left our apartment in Nashville on May 19th to head to my parents home in Lawrenceburg, KY.
  • After spending a few days in L-burg, we head out, with Pam's mom Becky, for Fargo, meeting up with our three summer missionaries in Louisville.
  • After a few exciting experiences and close calls, we landed in Fargo May 23rd, and moved in to our awesome apartment the next day.
  • Since then we have been on the search for jobs in the community, Pam has had a few interviews, but nothing really panning out too much. I have had two interviews and finally this week was offered a job at OfficeMax on 13th Ave S. I start next week with training.
  • We have had two groups brave the 1100+ miles to come to Fargo and help us. The Bridge of Spring Hill came in June and Rich Pond Baptist from Bowling Green just left yesterday. Both groups totally blew us away with there service to the community and to us.
  • After a long week of working in the community, the Bridge helped us put on our first public event in Island Park, allowing us to meet 50+ people in our community.
  • Just a few days ago, the group from Rich Pond helped us with our second community picnic at which we met over 100 of our neighbors. Such a great time with some really neat people.
  • In addition to all this, we have had three amazing college students working alongside us. Randall, Katie, and Jen have been such a source of encouragement, assistance, and momentum for us this summer. Sadly we sent Katie off yesterday and will soon say our goodbyes to Randall and Jen as they head home in a couple of weeks. It has been an awesome summer.

There are so many more things to share, but I think that is enough for now. It is exciting to think of what's next for us on this journey. I hope to do a much better job at keeping everyone up-to-date.
